Welcome back to Legend Lunchbox. Last time, the crew followed an old Willowcraft sign through the Weepingwood Forest and found Timber Camp Number 12, a mostly abandoned worksite that might have the lumber they need to patch the S.S. Distress. The good news is the wood is still there. The bad news is so is one very large and very sleepy bear.
Guide (Chris):Your long trek from the ship has revealed a little more about this new place called Lazuno. You've gathered supplies. You've met a local named Tobin and found an old Willowcraft timber camp that may have the wood you need for the Distress. And somehow you've invented new fashion out of long underwear. Now inside the long drying building at the back of Timber Camp Number 12, you appear between the two wood drying chambers.
Guide (Chris):An extremely large gray bear sits asleep on the floor. It's nestled up against the heated metal enclosure, and a rumbling snore rolls out of its snout as it shifts its head on one of its heavy forepaws. The warmth in the building wraps around you, and Rolo's suggestion about this being a perfect opportunity for an honest to goodness bear hug still hangs in the air.
Guide (Chris):So, Squawk, are you going to go hug the bear? And if you are, are you gonna be gentle and quiet, or are you gonna go into full Squawk friendship hug mode?
Squawk (Madeleine):I mean, I'm pretty excited about how snuggly he looks. I you know, my hugs with my new friends have not been, I'm not gonna lie, quite as satisfying as I was hoping, less enthusiastic. So I'm feeling it. But, however, I do have this size up thing I could do, which feels like pre hug a wise step.
Guide (Chris):Okay.
Squawk (Madeleine):Let's do that.
Guide (Chris):So you cast size up. And so what does that exactly do?
Squawk (Madeleine):It helps me evaluate the capabilities of a nearby creature or a group of creatures. And my nice helpful Guide is going to give me some insights into their capabilities and strength and vulnerabilities and whatnot.
Guide (Chris):So you've heard of these creatures before. You've never seen one before, but they're called Slateback Bruins. And it's a bear type creature. It's definitely known for being more in the forest. It can be dangerous if you're not careful, but it's generally more protective, and it will try to protect its den and or cubs, if it has any, very vigorously.
Guide (Chris):But
Squawk (Madeleine):Mhmm.
Guide (Chris):Generally, they don't just wander out and attack people. It's more of, like, hey. Get out of here. Leave me alone. I'm trying to sleep type thing.
Squawk (Madeleine):Okay. Alright. That's helpful information. Do we all get to have that information, or is that just in my own brain?
Guide (Chris):Well, no. I mean, it's in your head. So but I it's up to you whether you wanna tell everybody.
Squawk (Madeleine):Hey, everybody. I wanna tell you that I am not too worried about this bear. I my spidey sense tells me it probably a hug is in the cards. I'm gonna go for it. It's not vicious. Does anyone see any cubs around?
Guide (Chris):You do not see anything other than this bear. Now this bear is pretty big. I mean, it seems like it is an adult. It's not like a small little bear.
Squawk (Madeleine):Right. Okay.
CAM (Tito):We didn't see any small scratches as we came in. Just really big ones.
Guide (Chris):Yeah.
Squawk (Madeleine):Alright.
Lysander (Jay):And you really wanna hug a sleeping bear?
Squawk (Madeleine):I mean, should we vote? I am a bird. My brain's... it's I mean, it's big for a bird, but should we but... Look, I don't want anyone to be mad at me. Let's all vote. Okay?
Lysander (Jay):Listen. If you wanna do it, go right ahead. I just don't know that hugging a bear is well, it's sleeping, at least. You know, you might startle it.
Squawk (Madeleine):I'm gonna wake him up and ask him if it is okay for me to hug him.
Rolo (Phil):Ah, can we vote on that?
Lysander (Jay):We'll be outside, taking a vote.
Squawk (Madeleine):That's a form of vote. That's good. That's okay. I'm not doing someone else hug me, and then I'm I'll be good.
Lysander (Jay):I could hug you in bear form if you need a bear hug.
Squawk (Madeleine):Perfect. And then I and then I will not interact with this thing.
Guide (Chris):Okay.
Squawk (Madeleine):I feel like we need to move on.
Guide (Chris):Alright. So what are you guys gonna do? I mean, you're, it seems to be very much asleep. And as long as you guys aren't banging on pipes or causing a ruckus, it doesn't seem like it's going to immediately wake up. But.
CAM (Tito):Do we see anything that we need around here? Is the lumber or anything here?
Guide (Chris):This building seems like it has these two big chambers that go down either side. And in the center is where that metal warm I almost call it an oven, but it's not really an oven. But, like, heat's coming off of it. It does seem like there are panels and doors within these chambers. And if you peek in the side of one, you can see that there are long planks of timber inside of it.
Guide (Chris):But it's not probably something you're gonna be able to easily pull out without making a ruckus.
Squawk (Madeleine):Unless we have some. Does anyone have any secret pulling it stuff out quietly spells?
Rolo (Phil):Again, I don't know what you think I have in my spell book.
Squawk (Madeleine):I don't know. You're the first wizard I've ever met.
Rolo (Phil):It's not I just don't have that kind of spells. And, also, this is probably the wrong time to tell you, but I only have, like, three points left to spells.
Squawk (Madeleine):Okay.
Lysander (Jay):Alrighty.
CAM (Tito):We just gotta be careful. Let's try to open up one of these doors where this wood is quietly. Hopefully, it's not rusted and goes, screech.
Guide (Chris):Okay. So who's gonna do it?
CAM (Tito):Opening the door?
Guide (Chris):Yeah.
CAM (Tito):I'll go do it.
Guide (Chris):Okay. And give me a roll. So, they're basically, like, big wooden panels, and they're on they're not on wheels, but they got, like, metal clamps that just kinda slide along a track.
CAM (Tito):Okay. That is an eight.
Guide (Chris):Okay. So you start doing it, and it's like, it's going nice and quiet nice and quiet. And then suddenly, like, it it, like, slips off the track. It goes 'kechonk', and makes this big reverberating thunk. And as that happens you suddenly see the bear, it twitches a little bit and like one eye opens.
Lysander (Jay):Go to sleep...go to sleep...go to sleep, everything's fine. This is a dream.
Squawk (Madeleine):That's a good idea. I could play some I mean, I have my boombox. I can play some lullaby music. Why don't I do that?
Guide (Chris):Go ahead.
Squawk (Madeleine):It's a good idea, Lysander.
Lysander (Jay):Thanks.
Squawk (Madeleine):But my music's better. So...
Lysander (Jay):Okay. I hope so.
Squawk (Madeleine):I'm gonna play some Enya we all love.
Guide (Chris):Alright.
Squawk (Madeleine):Okay. So go do some good stuff, guys.
Guide (Chris):So the bear seems to kinda nod off a little bit and just goes back to these big deep snores.
Squawk (Madeleine):I love it.
Guide (Chris):So what do you guys do next?
Lysander (Jay):So is the door off the, on the floor now?
Guide (Chris):So it it fell off the thing. Yes. And you can probably try and pull planks out, but it's not, like, fully open. So it's gonna be one of those things where you gotta pull them out kitty corner.
Lysander (Jay):I'll give a hand.
Guide (Chris):Okay.
Squawk (Madeleine):It has to be awkward. Always has to be awkward.
Guide (Chris):Yeah.
CAM (Tito):How many of these planks do you think we need, guys?
Lysander (Jay):I think I said it depends on how long these are.
Guide (Chris):So these planks are about 10 feet long. And there seems to be in this one that you've opened, there seems to be about half a dozen of them.
Lysander (Jay):And they're not the floaty kind. Right?
Guide (Chris):They seem to be the Weepingwood from the big trees here. These seem to be super dry and seem to be in really good shape. So, I mean, they they are not floating or anything. No. So, I mean, they're just bare timber. They'll need to be sealed or whatever.
Rolo (Phil):Haha! Bear timber.
Lysander (Jay):Budumpbumpbump.
Squawk (Madeleine):But it's better than no timber, which is what we have. We have a hole in the ship. So...
Lysander (Jay):So, we need, three, four of these?
CAM (Tito):I mean, might as well take all six.
Squawk (Madeleine):Take all six.
CAM (Tito):Get some spares.
Lysander (Jay):Yeah.
Squawk (Madeleine):Yeah.
Guide (Chris):I mean, you know you probably need about a dozen-ish of these because, I mean, there was, there was probably fifteen, twenty planks missing off the ship, and you found a couple.
Rolo (Phil):No. It's okay. I can solve this problem. You see, I don't know if you guys know this, but there's a a calculation you can do to know how many board feet you need to cover any any size of a hole.
Squawk (Madeleine):Whoo.
Rolo (Phil):Except I didn't actually do that before we left.
CAM (Tito):I was about to say, so you know how many feet we need?
Lysander (Jay):Okay.
Rolo (Phil):I could if I go back to the ship, but that would take a while.
CAM (Tito):So let's just grab a ton of wood.
Lysander (Jay):Yes.
CAM (Tito):And we bring it back. We're gonna need some spares anyway, just in case.
Squawk (Madeleine):Yeah.
Rolo (Phil):I think a ton of wood is exactly how much we need.
CAM (Tito):Perfect.
Squawk (Madeleine):I also feel good about that.
Guide (Chris):You'll be able to pull about half a dozen out of that side. There is another oven on the other side as well. It is closed up. You can see through the little cracks that there's a bunch of planks in there as well.
CAM (Tito):Alright.
Squawk (Madeleine):More planks.
CAM (Tito):So we gotta go open that door now. Should I attempt this again, or does somebody else wanna attempt to open the door?
Squawk (Madeleine):You did a really good job. I'm gonna turn up my Enya.
Squawk (Madeleine):The bears... it works on everyone. The bear is good. He's comfy.
CAM (Tito):Alright. Let's let's see here. So this door is really rusted. Two.
Squawk (Madeleine):Oh, man.
Lysander (Jay):K.
Guide (Chris):So you're pulling on this one slowly and trying to push on it and push on it, and it's, like, getting jammed up. And then just as you do that, it like, this one's completely slips off the track and then lands on the floor. It's like, bang. Really, really loud.
Guide (Chris):And then suddenly the bear's like, Grrrr! And it, like, wakes up, and it looks kind of bleary eyed, and it just stands up. As it stands up at its shoulder, it's probably about as tall as you guys are.
CAM (Tito):Big bear.
Guide (Chris):And it's still groggy and kind of out of it.
CAM (Tito):So you said these guys are mostly friendly. Right? Squawk?
Squawk (Madeleine):He said they were mostly friendly, but...
Lysander (Jay):Throw him some shrimp. Throw him some shrimp.
Squawk (Madeleine):I could throw some shrimp, or I could fly around his head in a frantic circle for a while and try and see if I can get him dizzy while you guys take off with the planks.
CAM (Tito):It's gonna take a while to load these planks.
Squawk (Madeleine):I can fly I I have very good flying stamina.
CAM (Tito):Okay.
Squawk (Madeleine):Look.
Lysander (Jay):Uh-huh.
Squawk (Madeleine):That was my offer. Shrimp? Should we try the shrimp? Okay. I throw all my shrimp at his face.
Guide (Chris):Okay. So you throw all your shrimp. It's like, ping, ping, ping, ping. And all the shrimp's, like, hitting the bear in the face, and it's like seems like he's starting to get a little mad, then he's like and he starts sniffing.
Squawk (Madeleine):Yes.
Guide (Chris):And he starts looking on the floor, and then he starts slowly eating the shrimp.
CAM (Tito):Get the wood. Get the wood!
Squawk (Madeleine):Yeah. Get the wood.
Lysander (Jay):Quick. Quick!
Guide (Chris):He's not ignoring you guys, but he's definitely more interested in the shrimp at the moment.
Squawk (Madeleine):This is good, that's great. Get the wood.
Lysander (Jay):K. We hustle with the wood.
Guide (Chris):Okay.
CAM (Tito):We gotta load it up on our makeshift floaty cart.
Guide (Chris):Yeah. So you're able to get about 10 of them out of this oven.
CAM (Tito):Oh, out of that one?
Guide (Chris):Yeah. So you got 16.
Lysander (Jay):16. Oh, wow. Good.
Squawk (Madeleine):Good job.
CAM (Tito):That's probably enough. Let's start slowly backing out of here.
Guide (Chris):Okay. So Squawk, you threw all of your shrimp?
Squawk (Madeleine):I regret saying that. However, I did say it. So, yes, I'm shrimp less.
Guide (Chris):It is definitely good that you did that because they're all over the place. And he's, like, rooting around underneath things and poking at stuff and and you guys do see that, like, there's other like, there's tools and other stuff in here. Like, he's knocking over as he's going, but he's just snuffling and and and moving around, eating up the shrimp.
Squawk (Madeleine):It's organic. Dude.
CAM (Tito):There's plenty of other buildings outside that probably have tools and stuff. We can let him have those.
Guide (Chris):Alright. So you guys slowly back out and you just hear, like again, every once in while, hear, like, a crash from inside and you just you can definitely hear him, like, eating and scratching at stuff and, you know, trying to pull some shrimp out that maybe got under a a table that a little bit too low.
Lysander (Jay):Okay.
CAM (Tito):So as long as we hear that noise, we're safe. If it gets quiet, we're in trouble.
Squawk (Madeleine):Or he's or he's sleeping. But yes. Yeah. So someone keep a lookout for the bear while we're exploring?
CAM (Tito):Yeah. Yeah. I guess you can keep a lookout at that because it's a, like, a longhouse. Right?
Guide (Chris):Yeah.
CAM (Tito):So it's just kind of open ended.
Guide (Chris):Yep.
CAM (Tito):So we should see him coming out if he comes out of there.
Guide (Chris):Yeah.
Squawk (Madeleine):Okay. Okay.
Guide (Chris):For sure.
Rolo (Phil):Oh, wait. I know what I can do. I could cast familiar.
Guide (Chris):Okay.
Rolo (Phil):And that's like a spectral creature that can follow my commands and will get my familiar to keep an eye out and come get us if it wakes up or leaves.
Lysander (Jay):Okay.
Squawk (Madeleine):You are so lucky. That's a good spell.
Rolo (Phil):Yeah. Except I don't really know it's supposed to be a certain kind of creature, but I don't really know what kind. It's kinda different every time. So stand back.
Squawk (Madeleine):I hope that's not something gross.
CAM (Tito):To stand back.
Squawk (Madeleine):Alright.
Guide (Chris):So, yeah, so these are spectral creatures. Right? They're pretty small.
CAM (Tito):Would you say, like, the size of a chicken?
Guide (Chris):A little bit smaller. Kind of about the size of in your palm. Rolo, you cast your spell, and then suddenly, poof, in front of you guys, you see this little spectral blue shaded fiddler crab skittering around on the ground.
Guide (Chris):He skitters around, and he he walks over to you, Rolo. And he looks up and he's like, Hey. What did you want?
Rolo (Phil):Woah. I've never heard them talk before.
Guide (Chris):You know, you've called me here. I was busy. What do you want?
Rolo (Phil):Dude.
Guide (Chris):Yeah?
Rolo (Phil):It's awesome that you can talk. What's your name?
Guide (Chris):I'm Fiddy. What's your name?
Rolo (Phil):Fit Fiddy.
Guide (Chris):Fiddy.
Rolo (Phil):Fiddy. Oh oh, my name's Rolo. Nice to meet you. And I gave a little handshake with his crab claw.
Guide (Chris):Not. Oh, oh, oh! And he kinda skitters to the side. He's like, Hey. Watch it! I'm walking sideways here!
Rolo (Phil):Sorry. Okay. So here's the plan.
Guide (Chris):Okay.
Rolo (Phil):Wait. I I gotta talk quieter.
Guide (Chris):Okay.
Rolo (Phil):Because there's a bear in that building over there.
Guide (Chris):What!?!
Rolo (Phil):Yeah. A bear, and we need you to keep an eye on it.
Guide (Chris):He looks over at the the hut, and he's like, Yeah. And what am I supposed to do? Just watch it?
Rolo (Phil):Well, if he starts coming out and doesn't go to sleep, I want you to let us know.
Guide (Chris):Okay. And where are you gonna be?
Rolo (Phil):Not far because I think you go away if I can't see you, so don't go around any corners. Keep me in your eye line and keep the bear in your eye line.
Guide (Chris):Well, I guess so. I'll I'll try and keep eye on both of you, but you gotta keep your eye on me. Otherwise, I go away.
Rolo (Phil):Your eyes move independently. You're a crab.
Guide (Chris):True.
Squawk (Madeleine):I would like to just clarify that I will not be anywhere near the crab because I just gave away all my lunch, and I am crabs are very, very tasty. And I cannot promise
Rolo (Phil):Woah!
Squawk (Madeleine):That I would not...
Rolo (Phil):No eating my familiar.
Squawk (Madeleine):Listen. He wasn't here five minutes ago. You know I'm a good friend, but I can't always help it. I have what do you think this big beak is for? Look at this long thing.
CAM (Tito):Bears on a seafood diet right now, so, you know, be wary.
Squawk (Madeleine):Yeah.
Guide (Chris):Now I don't know if this is such a good idea. I mean, if he comes at me, what am I supposed to do?
CAM (Tito):Run.
Rolo (Phil):Yeah. Run.
Squawk (Madeleine):But not towards me.
Lysander (Jay):You're spectral.
Rolo (Phil):You're a ghost. Yeah. You're spectral. You should be fine.
Guide (Chris):I'm not worried about me. Well, I'm not really worried about you either, but still. I mean, I'm gonna come eat you guys.
Rolo (Phil):No. You're supposed to stop that from happening by warning us.
Guide (Chris):Alright. I'll let you know if it comes.
Rolo (Phil):You know, it says here in my spell book, you're supposed to follow my commands.
Guide (Chris):Alright. Fine.
Rolo (Phil):Where did that happen?
Guide (Chris):Alright. I I guess whatever. Whatever. I watch him. So you see him kinda crawl around the side. Oh, he's a big one!
Rolo (Phil):Is this telepathic commune I guess everybody can hear him. Right?
Guide (Chris):I mean, you can communicate telepathically, but he can also speak out loud.
Rolo (Phil):Oh, okay. Shhhh!
Guide (Chris):Was that telepathic or out loud?
Rolo (Phil):No. That was out loud to tell him to stop talking out loud and talk to me telepathically.
Guide (Chris):What?
Rolo (Phil):No. In my head.
Guide (Chris):He kinda raises his claw, kinda waves it.
Lysander (Jay):Now they're talking telepathically.
Squawk (Madeleine):Alright.
Lysander (Jay):Suddenly got really quiet.
Rolo (Phil):And then we start carrying on a conversation, which none of the rest of you can hear.
Guide (Chris):That's right.
Squawk (Madeleine):That's very rude.
Guide (Chris):And he's like, you know, you guys are crazy.
Rolo (Phil):And I'm nodding. I'm nodding. And now I laugh. Oh, oh, that's a good point.
Squawk (Madeleine):Total fomo.
Guide (Chris):Crab's like, what are you laughing at? As you guys back out, Fiddy is standing on the edge of that big shed, and he's kinda watching down. He's looking towards you guys every once in a while. Now you do see there's another small building not too far from you behind you. It's like all metal.
Guide (Chris):And then at the other end of that long shed, there's another larger building that is wood and and metal planks that seems like it's falling apart. And then there's a whole bunch of other stuff. There's like a lean-to that looks like you can see like a fireplace with some pots in it. You see like a big cutting frame. You see some old piles of planks and timbers in the center.
Guide (Chris):You know, there's a drying rack and then there's like a big pile of scrap and then you've got that big winch on the side. So do you guys wanna check out anything? Or...
Lysander (Jay):Check out the next, whatever building we're closest to.
Guide (Chris):Okay.
CAM (Tito):Yeah. There was like a a shed or something that had, like, tools outside or before. Right?
Guide (Chris):Yeah. So you turn around, and it's basically, like, kind of right outside the front of this building. Unlike a lot of the other buildings in the camp, this one's completely made out of metal panels. And while it's got rust streaks all over it, it's mostly intact. And there's a stout metal door that's closed up tight and, like, it's locked with a padlock on it.
Guide (Chris):You see, like, an old wooden work table pushed up against the outside of the wall, and then there's whole bunch of, like, rotting planks and some rusted metal wheels and bars that are leaned up against the outside of the walls.
CAM (Tito):Alright. So I think if we need tools, that's probably where it's gonna be since there's a workbench and everything out there.
Squawk (Madeleine):Yeah.
Lysander (Jay):Yeah.
Squawk (Madeleine):Were there no tools on the boat? Did we talk about that?
Guide (Chris):Well, you guys did find a couple of tools.
Squawk (Madeleine):On the way.
Guide (Chris):In that emergency kit. There was, like, a screwdriver and a hammer and...
CAM (Tito):Nothing super useful, though. We're gonna need some saws. Gonna need nails. We're gonna need all kinds of stuff.
Squawk (Madeleine):Let's check it out.
Rolo (Phil):Oh, yeah. Nails are super helpful.
CAM (Tito):Yes.
Squawk (Madeleine):Okay.
CAM (Tito):I guess we're gonna have to try to break into the shed.
Lysander (Jay):Yep.
Guide (Chris):Sure. So, I mean, it is locked up with a padlock. I mean, how are you guys gonna try and get the padlock off?
Lysander (Jay):But aren't there rotting timbers?
Guide (Chris):There are. And there's, like, old kind of metal bars and stuff too.
Lysander (Jay):Can we just pull away some rotting timbers?
Guide (Chris):Oh oh, no. So there's the building is completely metal. I'm sorry.
Lysander (Jay):Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh.
Guide (Chris):But there's, like, old timbers and metal planks and stuff leaning up against the building that are starting to rot.
CAM (Tito):Is there a piece of metal or something that we could use to just try to crack it?
Guide (Chris):Yeah.
Squawk (Madeleine):I could just try flying into a rage and bashing the door down. I'm I can get pretty ragey. I mean, if you wanna give me a running start.
CAM (Tito):I mean, we don't wanna make too much noise, but you can try.
Squawk (Madeleine):Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay. Do we need to be quiet? Yeah. My rage isn't very quiet.
Lysander (Jay):Is the door completely metal?
Guide (Chris):Yeah.
Lysander (Jay):Because I could turn it into a flower arrangement, and we can walk.
Guide (Chris):The door is completely metal. The whole building is basically metal panels and the door is completely metal.
Lysander (Jay):Just like I did with the anchor.
CAM (Tito):Anchor?
Squawk (Madeleine):Oh.
CAM (Tito):Just make sure you just do the door then. Don't do, like, the whole building.
Lysander (Jay):Yes.
CAM (Tito):We need the stuff inside.
Guide (Chris):I think you you did specifically say that it it can do up to about the shape of a door. Correct?
Lysander (Jay):The shape of a door. Yeah. So I walk up to it, and I put both hands on it, and I close my eyes. I take a deep breath, and I say, what kind of plant would you like it to be to you guys?
Squawk (Madeleine):A pretty one.
Lysander (Jay):K.
CAM (Tito):How about spinach? We're kinda hungry.
Squawk (Madeleine):Oh, right.
Lysander (Jay):K. There you go. So I and I cast steel sprout, and I turn it into a big spinach plant.
Guide (Chris):So you do that, and it just turns into one giant spinach leaf. It's not a plant. It's just one giant leaf.
CAM (Tito):Oh, jeez.
Squawk (Madeleine):So just some sharing. Okay.
Guide (Chris):So the leaf just kinda wilts and just falls down on the ground. And then behind that, you see metal and wooden shelves filling most of the the room. And then on the back, you see four large closed barrels on the back wall, and there's, like, old tools and leather bags kinda hanging on some pegs and some hooks around the room.
CAM (Tito):K.
Squawk (Madeleine):Okay.
CAM (Tito):Guess start inspecting some of the bins and stuff, try to find some saws and nails and materials we need to rebuild the ship.
Guide (Chris):As you walk in the door, you get this overpowering smell of chemicals.
Rolo (Phil):While that's going on, I wanna check-in with Fiddy. Hey, Fiddy. What's going on?
Guide (Chris):Come on! I'm busy here.
Rolo (Phil):But you're you're busy doing the thing that you're supposed to check-in with me. That's what you're busy doing is checking in with me.
Guide (Chris):Yeah. By the way, where are you? Can you still see him? I hope.
Rolo (Phil):Well, I mean, he would be gone if I couldn't see him.
Rolo (Phil):I have been keeping my eye on him the whole time. I'm sort of looking through the doorway of the shed, but not going in the shed so that I can see...
Guide (Chris):Okay.
Rolo (Phil):Both Fiddy and the the what they're doing?
Guide (Chris):So Fiddy's like, I'm trying to watch this dang bear. Stop bugging me.
Rolo (Phil):Well, what is the bear doing?
Guide (Chris):I don't know, he's eating something. I I don't know what he's eating, but he's eating something.
Rolo (Phil):Okay. Does he look happy, sad, angry, ambivalent, sleepy?
Guide (Chris):I mean, he looks hungry because he's eating a lot.
Rolo (Phil):Hungry was not one of those options.
Guide (Chris):I don't know if he's happy. I've never met a bear. Hey, bear! Are you happy?
Rolo (Phil):No. Don't say that! I said you have to talk...
Guide (Chris):You hear, Wuh-oh!
Rolo (Phil):Oh, no. What did you do?
Guide (Chris):So suddenly Fiddy comes running towards you. Ah, you want me to tell you the bear was coming?
Rolo (Phil):Is the bear coming?
Guide (Chris):I think so.
Rolo (Phil):You go back there and you distract that bear right now.
Guide (Chris):What is he eating in there?
Rolo (Phil):I don't care. I think it might have been a shrimp.
Guide (Chris):Wait a minute. You fed bear seafood and then you put me there? I'm a crab!
Rolo (Phil):You're a ghost crab. You're not real. He can't eat you. You're fine.
Guide (Chris):Man, if I get eaten, I'm gonna be real mad.
Rolo (Phil):Oh, okay. You can be mad at me.
Guide (Chris):He scoots back. Okay. And and you see him skitter up to the thing. He's like, oh, man. He he's kinda near the door.
Rolo (Phil):Well, I need you to distract him without going inside.
Guide (Chris):You crazy!
Rolo (Phil):Do a little dance or something.
Guide (Chris):I don't dance.
Rolo (Phil):You don't you don't know until you try.
Guide (Chris):Oh, man. Alright.
Rolo (Phil):Come on. I'll help you.
Guide (Chris):You do that, he starts, like, waving his big claw in the air.
Rolo (Phil):That's good. Here, use that little use that little piece of metal and wear it like a hat. And then do this with the hat. Lift it off your head.
Guide (Chris):He does that.
Lysander (Jay):Hello my baby, hello my darling hello my ragtime gal...
Guide (Chris):So as he's doing he's like, oh. Now I just drew attention to me! Oh, here he comes! So even Fiddy comes running back towards you. He's coming!
Rolo (Phil):Don't come this way! Go that way!
Guide (Chris):Oh, okay. And he skitters the other way too. And he skitters, like, around the corner and you hear, Okay, I gotta do...
Rolo (Phil):Fit oh, man. It's okay. I'll cast it again. Oh, I've only got one point left.
CAM (Tito):Do we know all this is going on? I assume all telepathic?
Guide (Chris):You guys were talking telepathically. Correct?
Rolo (Phil):I turn to the doorway and go, we should hurry.
Lysander (Jay):But we got all this spinach.
Rolo (Phil):Yeah. I think we should tell you what. I'm gonna come in the the the work shed, and can you put the can you turn it back into a door?
Lysander (Jay):No.
Rolo (Phil):I let's lift let's lift the spinach up like it's a door and just hold it.
Lysander (Jay):Oh, okay. Why?
Rolo (Phil):Because the bear's coming!!
CAM (Tito):Oh. Hurry up and grab the spinach.
Guide (Chris):Okay. So you guys all get in there and you hold up the spinach like a little piece of spinach door in front of you. And as you're in there, like, the chemical smell, you you don't know what it is, but, like, you start to feel like your throat starting to burn and your eyes are starting to water.
CAM (Tito):As a doctor, would I know what it is?
Guide (Chris):You don't know exactly what the chemical is, but it does not seem like it is...
CAM (Tito):Safe?
Guide (Chris):...good for your breathing.
Lysander (Jay):Do we wanna be trapped inside this building if the bear gets through our spinach door?
Rolo (Phil):Do do you wanna be trapped on the outside of the building with the bear?
Lysander (Jay):Well, at least we could run.
CAM (Tito):I'm not sure how long we're gonna last in this building with these chemicals in here.
Rolo (Phil):Longer than we would last on the outside of the building with the bear?
Lysander (Jay):I have something, I have something that I think might help us, though, if we're outside.
Rolo (Phil):Okay. My my plan was to hold our breath, but what's your plan?
Lysander (Jay):Well, I have something I can cast that on us that we could run faster than anything around here.
CAM (Tito):But but we need the stuff that's in here.
Lysander (Jay):Well, then we can come back once the bears gone.
Rolo (Phil):Hold on a second. Hey. Has anybody noticed that Squawk has passed out?
Lysander (Jay):What happened?
Guide (Chris):Squawk is inside the building, passed out. So just just for your awareness, Squawk, you walked into the building and, like, there is this nasty smell and then you passed out.
Squawk (Madeleine):Okay. I'm so embarrassed. I'm supposed to be the tough fighter.
Rolo (Phil):Okay. Shh. Let let me fill you in. Fiddy did a very bad job of distracting the bear.
Squawk (Madeleine):Oh, man.
Rolo (Phil):And then he went around the corner, and now he's gone. And the bear is coming out, and we're holding the spinach leaf up against the door so the bear doesn't come in, but it's it's because a lot of chemical smell in here, which I think is why you did you sniff that barrel over there?
Squawk (Madeleine):Yeah. I'm I was very curious about the barrel. I must have sniffed the barrel. I'm so embarrassed. I feel fine now.
Rolo (Phil):That's probably where it's coming from.
Guide (Chris):So as you guys are talking, suddenly, you feel like the spinach leaf moving and you hear, sniff, sniff, sniff.
Lysander (Jay):Shh, be very quiet.
Rolo (Phil):I wish we had turned this into a pumpkin.
Squawk (Madeleine):Something firm.
Guide (Chris):So, like, this paw starts hitting the the spinach leaf and just kinda grabs a piece of it and just starts pulling it out.
CAM (Tito):As he does that, then I'm gonna walk up to the door, and very quietly, I am gonna whisper a little lullaby saying, you know, the three little bears each had their bed. Now it's time for you to go find yours, and I'm gonna cast a sleep.
Guide (Chris):Okay.
Squawk (Madeleine):Oh.
CAM (Tito):And this should put him back to sleep for an hour.
Squawk (Madeleine):You could've... You could've done that the whole time. Gosh. That's so good. Okay. Right. Right. Hold on. Okay. This is ugh. I'm so impressed.
Guide (Chris):So he definitely like, he scratches he scratches at the spinach. And then, like, as he grabs it, like, he looks surprised seeing four of you behind his his salad door. And then you cast your spell, and he just his eyes glaze over a little bit, and he just slumps down and falls down just, like, right in the doorway.
Squawk (Madeleine):Right in the doorway.
CAM (Tito):So as long as nobody harms him, he should be knocked out for about an hour.
Squawk (Madeleine):Okay. We can do so much in an hour.
Lysander (Jay):But he's blocking the door now.
Guide (Chris):Yeah. And the smell is getting worse, and it's really starting to bother you guys.
Rolo (Phil):Is he blocking the whole door? Like, can we crawl out over top of him?
Guide (Chris):I mean...
Squawk (Madeleine):I mean, I can fly.
Guide (Chris):you'll have to climb over him. Yes. Squawk can fly over him.
Squawk (Madeleine):I can fly over. And maybe I can get fly over and get something that will help ventilate or I mean, I don't want anyone else to pass out like me. So...
CAM (Tito):Well, is there any windows and something in here we can open? Or?
Guide (Chris):There is a couple of windows. Yes.
Rolo (Phil):Oh, wait.
Squawk (Madeleine):Bash them.
Rolo (Phil):There's a winch right outside the door.
Guide (Chris):There is a winch right outside the door.
Rolo (Phil):And it's awesome. I love this winch. You know what? I'm now dubbing it the wicked winch.
Squawk (Madeleine):Well, I could...
Rolo (Phil):This is what you're gonna do, Squawk. Go out, get the winch, wrap it around the bear, and then winch the bear out of the way.
Squawk (Madeleine):That is what I'm doing right now. Here I go.
Guide (Chris):Okay.
Squawk (Madeleine):I fly out.
Rolo (Phil):No. A winch. The the winch, Squawk. That's the thing with the hook and the and the gear. Not not that's not the winch. That that's it. The one with the hook and the rope.
Squawk (Madeleine):This is the most embarrassing adventure ever for me. Okay. I'm on it now. I have is this the is this the winch?
Guide (Chris):Yeah. So, as you fly over to it, it's like a there's like these big metal wheels that kind of sunk into the ground underneath it, but it looks like a rig that's built for lifting up planks and logs, and it seems to be in pretty good shape. There's like a big metal drum, and it's wrapped around it. And there's got this rope, but, like, you notice there's, like, this shiny like, these shiny fibers kind of woven into the rope that goes up over the pulleys and, like, the beams, and then there's a big metal hook on the end.
Squawk (Madeleine):Oh, I feel like I should be interested in that shiny stuff. No. I shouldn't based on your face. I don't care about the shiny stuff. Who cares?
Squawk (Madeleine):Okay. The hook the hook is what it where it's at. Okay. Go over. Does he have any kind of collery thing and perhaps a vest I could hook it to? I'm just not gonna...
Guide (Chris):If found, please call.
CAM (Tito):Yeah. If lost yeah. Please call Tobin.
Squawk (Madeleine):I need a hook attachment!
